Our Story

Ortega’s, A Mexican Bistro carries forward a family tradition rooted in Puerto Nuevo, the legendary lobster village of Baja California. The Ortega family was among the first to prepare the region’s signature dishes — grilled lobster, rice, beans, and handmade tortillas — dating back to the 1950s. Today, that same coastal Baja heritage lives on in the heart of San Diego.
